M&E Design & Project Management in Carlisle & Cumbria

Our in-house design and project management capability lets us take a scheme from initial concept through to a commissioned, handed-over building. Saints Contracting provides mechanical, electrical and public health design, design and build solutions, and full construction management for clients across Carlisle, Cumbria and the North West.

Delivering design and installation under one roof means fewer interfaces, tighter coordination and a single point of accountability. The team that produces the drawings is the team that installs and commissions the systems, so buildability is considered at design stage and the questions that normally travel back and forth between consultant and contractor are settled internally.

We work as principal contractor and as an M&E specialist within a wider main contract, supporting preconstruction with budget costing, value engineering options, programme input and buildability review. On design and build appointments we develop the M&E design from the client's brief or from a performance specification and carry it through to as-built information.

Energy and carbon are considered from the outset rather than retrofitted into a scheme late on. For public sector clients in Cumbria working to net zero commitments, early decisions about heat source, distribution temperatures and electrical capacity are what make low carbon plant viable later, and those decisions are much cheaper to make at concept stage than on site.

Projects are run under UKAS accredited ISO 9001 quality, ISO 14001 environmental, ISO 45001 health and safety and ISO 27001 information security management systems, with CHAS Elite, SafeContractor and SMAS Worksafe SSIP accreditation. Commercial, programme, quality and compliance management run through every stage, and handover includes the aftercare that keeps a system performing once the building is in use.
